The Jiaozhou Bay Subsea Tunnel Lighting Retrofit Project employs high-performance LED tunnel luminaires, leveraging three key technologies—zone‑specific precision light distribution, radar‑based dimming, and an ultra‑corrosion‑resistant design—to effectively address the longstanding challenges of high energy consumption, difficult maintenance, and numerous safety hazards in subsea tunnel lighting. This project has not only set a benchmark for intelligent LED retrofitting of operational subsea tunnels in China but also provides a highly reliable, energy‑efficient, and smart retrofit model for similar Class I cross‑sea passages, mountain tunnels, and urban underground ring roads.
